spectra on the edge of embodiment

Information

This light work explores the use of digital projections in demonstrating the permeability and malleability of the human corporeal edge as it senses and envelopes the world within which it lives. I have sought to develop an aesthetic vocabulary that debrides material surfaces to reveal the transmutative processes that occur within a skin-space. Where the interior meets the exterior, flesh becomes the space in which we stand.
Isla Griffin explores the interface of the human body and the world with which it continuously interacts. Her works are a coalescence of mixed medias and digital light projections, referencing interior anatomies, surface topographies and the invisible energetic forces that underlie human existence.
