Pronouns Do Not Detain Me is a collection that embraces fluidity, which naturally inhabits individuals and gender. The collection creates a platform for people to perform their gender in a truly authentic form. It, and those who wear it, disrupt the curated characteristics of gender that men and women are expected to conform to.
I am a designer who loves to play with silhouette and new pattern cutting techniques. My honours project has focused on challenging the gender binary and its role in society. Through explorative designs I have enjoyed distorting people’s perceptions through the use of silhouette and scale.
