Deconstruct/Reconstruct

Information

I have deconstructed pre-consumer waste fabric supplied by Thunderpants back into basic components such as fibers or yarns and reconstructed it using traditional and contemporary textile processes. I have created a rich variety of textile samples to inspire and educate consumers to repurpose textile waste streams accessible to them, with the ultimate aim of creating a lasting bond between the consumer and textile.
I am a structure focused textile designer with a passion for hands-on processes. Concerns over sustainability issues in the textile and fashion industry, particularly with the abundance of textile waste, have led me to base my practice on repurposing existing fabrics rather than using new materials.
